We’ve talked about this since we began the podcast, but finally we are proud to announce the first annual forthcoming Forge Awards!
With a variety of award categories, our intention is to honor the best of the best in the Genesys Foundry from the past 12 months. Once nominations close, voting process occurs with the hosts of the podcast GM Chris and GM Hooly casting their vote along with those of our amazing Patreon Supporters.
If you wish to nominate your product, or indeed, someone else’s, all you have to do is send an email to forgegenesys@d20radio.com with the subject of “Forge Award Nomination” by 30th September, 2020. In your email, tell us why you want to nominate your chosen product, and for which category.
In order to qualify, the product must have been released between July 31 of 2019 and July 31 of 2020 inclusive.
Categories
There are 5 categories in total.
- Best Adventure: This is for full adventure modules or adventure seeds, regardless of setting or length.
- Best Setting: This is for full and new settings for the Genesys RPG.
- Best General Supplement: Whether it’s equipment guides, GM tools, new mechanical systems, or anything else that is NOT an adventure or a setting.
- Best Layout and Design: pretty self explanatory, but for those amazing products in any category that blew you away with their illustrations, layout, and overall beauty in design.
- Best Product: This is the best product of the year – as determined by your very own writing peers. Regardless of category, any product can win. This is the award given to the best overall product from the past 12 months as determined by those who submitted Genesys RPG products to the Foundry over the past year.
Only products available on the Genesys Foundry are eligible that were released during the nominated period. All nominations must be received by 30th September, 2020. After that, voting will commence for each category among the hosts and our Patreon Subscribers.
Rules
- No one can vote for a product they contributed to.
- In the interest of fairness, products produced by the hosts of The Forge Podcast are ineligible for any award.
- Any product can be nominated in any category, however the hosts have the right to refuse an entry in a particular category (eg. Does not conform to that product type).
- Voting for each award, except Best Product, is open to any current subscriber to The Forge: A Genesys RPG Podcast’s Patreon (www.patreon.com/forgegenesys)
- Voting for the Best Product award is open exclusively to authors, developers, and designers who contributed to a product submitted to the Foundry between July 31, 2019, to July 31, 2020 inclusive.
- Nominations for all the awards close on the 31st September 2020.
- Voting for the awards occurs during October 2020, with the winners announced later that month in a dedicated Forge Awards episode of The Forge: A Genesys RPG Podcast.
- Each Winner receives a shiny digital Forge Award Winner badge to include on their winning product, plus additional prizes as determined by the hosts of The Forge: A Genesys RPG Podcast.
